Description
Port Ruighe is the Gaelic spelling of the once-bustling trading port on the Isle of Skye. Double matured in ruby port wine casks, this malt is a toast to the Scottish traders who braved the high seas and were instrumental in the foundation of the port wine trade. On the nose: wood fire smoke, ripe plums, oranges, sea spray and toffee. On the palate: peat, smoke, brine, raisins, plums, black pepper and chocolate orange. The finish: long and smoky, with cocoa, oak and a hint of coffee. An essential gift for whisky connoisseurs, looking to explore new depths of flavour amongst smoky island malt whiskies.
